Parks Alive 2018

Parks Alive is a fantastic free event showcasing the stunning splendour of Roma Street Parkland.

Set over two days, the event is jam-packed with engaging and unique displays, family-friendly activities, guided Parkland tours, demonstrations by experts, horticulture workshops, live music and gourmet food.

With an exciting line-up of local and national talent including Costa Georgiadis, Jerry Coleby-Williams, Indira Naidoo and a whole host of lifestyle and wellness experts – with special appearances by the knowledgeable Parkland staff – Parks Alive is a must-do event for anyone interested in sustainability, nature, gardening and design.

Please help do your bit for the environment and contribute to the festival’s no-waste policy by bringing your own reusable water bottles and coffee cups. There will be a water bubbler provided to refill your water bottle at the event.

DIRECTIONS

Parking is available at a number of locations throughout and adjacent to the parkland. This includes:

On-street metered parking
There are nearly 200 on-street car parking spaces (including 11 disabled car parking bays) within Roma Street Parkland – these spaces are located at College Close Car Park and along Parkland Boulevard. All on-street parking is managed by Brisbane City Council. For a list of prices and more information, head to their website.

Undercover parking
The closest undercover parking to Roma Street Parkland is accessed via Parkland Crescent, under the Parkland Apartments residential building. Parking fees vary during the week and weekend and can be found here. Outside of the Parkland, the nearest public undercover car park is the Brisbane Transit Centre, located at 151 Roma Street.

There are a number of cycle paths that lead to Roma Street Parkland, including the Normanby Cycleway Link.

Roma Street Parkland bicycle racks are located on Parkland Boulevard at the end of Allee Bridge, in The Hub and next to Melange Café near the Carriage Deck.

Roma Street Parkland is a 10 minute walk from King George Square or a couple of minutes through the Transit Centre if coming by rail or bus. Follow our wayfinding map signs to the parkland.

Roma Street Parkland is located behind the Transit Centre, making it easy to travel by train.  Head towards the Platform 10 entrance and follow the signs up the escalators/lift across the road and into the parkland.

Roma Street Parkland is located behind the Transit Centre making it easy to get to the parkland by bus.  Head through Roma Street Station towards Platform 10, remembering to collect your 'walk through' ticket at the turnstiles and follow the signs up the escalator/lift, across the road and into the parkland.
